Method 3 – Using /mod chat command

This is my favorite and easiest method to make anyone mod on your channel.

It’s a simple command that you can use to quickly make anyone a mod both while streaming or even when offline.

How to Mod Someone on Twitch without Streaming?

Many people are still confused that the procedure of making mods on Twitch is only done while streaming.

All the 3 steps explained above can be used to mod someone on Twitch without streaming.

Making someone mod with the mod command is the easiest way that you can use to mod someone either while streaming or offline.

If you want to use the profile method to mod someone, without streaming then you need to ask that user to open your offline chat and send you a message.

Once the user is in the chat you can click on his username and assing him as a mod.

How do you Mod on Twitch Mobile?

You can also make someone mod on Twitch and also run mod commands from your mobile.

But doing mod stuff on a PC or laptop is much more convenient and easy to do as compared to Android or iPhone.

You can use the Twitch mod command and user profile option which is the best way to assign someone a moderator role in Twitch.

Go to channel chat type /mod [username], and replace the username with the username you want to make a mod.

You can also go to your channel chat, and click on the username to whom you want to make a mod. Tap on user accounts and then tap on Mod user.

Twitch mod Commands are all same for both PC and mobile.

What can Mods do on Twitch?

When you have huge followers and viewers on Twitch then it’s almost impossible to handle chat while streaming.

There are certain things you need to maintain on Twitch like ensuring viewers are following chat rules.

Twitch chat may be full of people from different countries, religions, and communities. It’s important that they should not be toxic and hurt someone’s feelings.

You can assign several mods who can do this work for you by maintaining a neat and clean chat. Few of their major works are

  • Giving timeout to users who are spamming or posting irrelevant content.

  • Ban words that should not be used in Twitch chat.

  • Ban users who even spam and do irrelevant things after a timeout.

  • Slowing down chat

  • Activate subscribers-only chat

There is much more work a mod can do on your channel.

My personal recommendation is that you should assign a mod once your average viewer count crosses 50.

Similarly, you can use many other Nightbot commands like Twitch Follow age and uptime commands.

You need to type !command add !Welcome Please Keep the Chat Clean. So no S after the command.
